St Wystan's Primary School, Derbyshire
Dear Diary, we have been invited to spend a fantastic day with the children at St Wystan’s Primary School in Derbyshire. We have a very special guest today, Rachel Teppin, a ballerina with the Birmingham Royal Ballet, who is going to tell us all about a day in the life of a ballerina and is also going to teach everyone a few moves! ( I think Flying Banana will like this!) Grandad Gordon is going to show us how to make cats out of paper bags and today the Story Princess is going to read to us all about “Dribble’s Giant Spring Clean”.





Barton Church Of England Primary School, Cambridge
Dear Diary, today we are going to play with the children at Barton Church of England Primary School in Cambridge where I know we will have a fantastic time! Our special guests will be Dante Ferrera and Michael Sargeant. They are Early Musicians and they are going to explain all about the Arabian Knights using historical instruments. Grandad Gordon is going to show us how to make some really colourful clown masks out of cardboard boxes. Then we’re all going to listen to today’s story“The Lost Balls”.

Meanwood Church Of England Primary School, Leeds
Dear Diary, we have all been invited to spend the day messin’ about with the children at Meanwood Church of England Primary School in Leeds. Our special guest, Clive Andrews the Clown is going to join us there and is bound to make everyone laugh by being very silly! He gets in a bit of a mess when he tries to put up his deckchair! Grandad Gordon shows us how to draw fantastic portraits of moving people. Then the Story Princess reads us the scrumptious story of “The Tastiest, Most Delicious Sandwich in the Whole Wide World”. Yummy!

Scholes Junior & Mixed Infants School, Huddersfield
Dear Diary, today Ripley and Scuff are going to join in the fun at Scholes Junior and Mixed Infants School in Huddersfield where I’m sure we’ll all have a great time meeting the children and messin’ about. Our special friend, Jim Rodford, is going to join us at the school and is bringing some of his bass instruments with him to play and show everyone, including one made out of a tea chest! (Ripley thinks this is very cool)! Grandad Gordon is going to show us how to make pictures of cockerels out of pieces of torn up paper (he has some brilliant ideas doesn’t he?) and today’s TOP BANANA story is “Billy the King and his Tricks”.

Croxton Kerrial CofE Primary School, Grantham
Dear Diary, Ripley and Scuff have been invited to play at Croxton Kerrial CofE Primary School in Grantham today. Grandad Gordon is going to show us how to make beautiful symmetrical folding butterflies and our special guest, Andy Cooper, who is coming along too not only brings his clarinet with him but also some amazing musical carrots! (I’ve never heard musical carrots before! I wonder what they sound like?) Then the Story Princess will read another story about Dribble the Dragon in “Dribble’s Spelling Lesson”.

St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School, Leeds
Dear Diary, what a fantastic day we will have today visiting the children at St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School in Leeds! Our special guest, Colin Shelbourn, is a cartoonist who is going to bring along some of his drawings and is going to show everyone how to draw cartoons. Grandad Gordon is going to make ladybird jigsaws which I’m sure Ripley and Scuff will have great fun putting together! And we’re all looking forward to hearing today’s story – “Billy the King and his Things”.

Brancaster Church of England Primary School, Norfolk
Dear Diary, today we have been invited to come and play at Brancaster Church of England Primary School in Norfolk where we will be joined by our special guests, Dante Ferrera and Michael Sargeant. They are Early Musicians, who will demonstrate to everyone the difference between loud and soft sounds by using some of their historical instruments. Grandad Gordon is going to print some pretty flower pictures using balloons ( Bargie will like this!) and I can’t wait to hear today’s story “A Day at the Beach”.

Mitchell Brook Primary School, London
Dear Diary, what an exciting day we’re going to have today at Mitchell Brook Primary School in London where we will be joined by Jane Frost who is going to teach everyone how much fun it is to sing with a big smile on your face! Clever Grandad Gordon is going to show how you can make sand pictures without even being at the seaside. And Ripley and Scuff can’t wait to hear today’s story “What Colour is Green?” (Scuff thinks it might be pink! The big spoon!)

St Peter’s Church of England Primary School, London
Dear Diary, today’s visit will be to St Peter’s Church of England Primary School in London where we are going to have a wonderful time messin’ about! We are going to bring along our special friend, Alasdair Malloy, who will bring some different kinds of drums with him to show everyone – some of them are very good for marching to! Grandad Gordon is going to show us how to make a magnetic fish game which I bet Ripley and Scuff will have great fun playing. Then the Story Princess will tell us another magical story with “Hector the Shell Collector”.

Queniborough Primary School, Leicestershire
Dear Diary, we’re going to visit Queniborough Primary School in Leicestershire today to meet all the children there. Our special friend, Sue Addison, is also coming along and is going to bring her trombones for everyone to see and hear how they sound. Grandad Gordon is going to show us how to make wonderful patterns by card weaving and the boys and I can’t wait to hear today’s story “Dribble Catches Cold”.

Stockton Heath Primary School, Warrington
Dear Diary, today we’ve been invited to play at Stockton Heath Primary School in Warrington! We will be joined at the school by our special guest, Chris Dought, a Blacksmith, who is going to explain all about his job and let everyone have a go with his tools. The boys are really excited about this! Grandad Gordon is going to show us how to make tube soldiers who will prove to be very good at marching as Ripley and Scuff will find out. Then the beautiful Story Princess will read us today’s story – “Pirate Five Hats and the Windy Day”.

Fawcett Primary School, Cambridge
Dear Diary, I am so looking forward to going with Ripley and Scuff today to Fawcett Primary School in Cambridge. Our special guests will be Dante Ferrara and Sandy Lincoln, who, with the children, will perform an historical dance called ‘Sun and Snowflakes’ which will be accompanied by early instruments! Grandad Gordon will show us how to make some weird and wonderful creatures out of vegetables and Flying Banana can’t wait to hear today’s story “Billy and the Dragon”. He thinks it sounds TOP BANANA!



Elmhurst Primary School, London
Dear Diary, today we’ve been invited to join in the fun at Elmhurst Primary School in London and to have a great time messin’ about with the children there. Our special guest, Mehboob Nadeen, a sitar player, will also visit the school and is going to explain all about the sitar as well as demonstrating how it is played – some of the children will even get the chance to join in with him! Grandad Gordon is going to show us how to make some beautiful crowns – FANTASTIC! And the Story Princess will read us today’s story “Hector the Dinosaur Collector”.

Gallions Primary School, London
Dear Diary, Ripley and Scuff and myself are going to spend the day at Gallions Primary School in London where we’re going to have a fantastic time meeting the children! We will be joined by Helena Benge, a Spanish Dancer who is going to teach everyone how to dance the Flamenco and play the castanets while accompanied by Spanish guitar. ( I love dancing!) Clever Grandad Gordon is going to show us how to make snake puppets out of old stockings. And Bargie and I can’t wait to hear today’s story “Pirate Five Hats and the Out of Control Bath”. TOP BANANA!

Bell Lane Junior and Infant School, Wakefield
Dear Diary, today we are going along to meet the children at Bell Lane Junior and Infant School in Wakefield. We are taking with us our special friend, Dave MacCreedy, an actor, who is going to get everyone to dress up and act out their very own play! Grandad Gordon is going to show us how to make some fantastic wooden spoon people which Ripley and Scuff will have great fun decorating (will they look just like them I wonder? The big spoons!) and then we can all enjoy today’s story – “A Strange Smell in the House”.

Cherry Orchard Primary School, London
Dear Diary, we will be visiting Cherry Orchard Primary School in London today where we’re bound to have a fabulous time messin’ about with the children there. Our special friend, Phil Bainbridge, is going to show everyone how to play the trumpet! And things will definitely get very gooey when Grandad Gordon shows us how to make model fish out of salt dough. Then in today’s story we’re all going to listen to another adventure with Myrtle the Turtle – “The Longest Water Slide in the World”.

Cobourg Primary School, London
Dear Diary, today Ripley and Scuff are going to visit Cobourg Primary School in London. We’re all so excited at meeting the children there. Our special guest, Linus Bewley, will also come along and is going to explain all about the saxophone and the sounds it makes as well as playing some music that’s really good to dance to! As you can imagine (with Ripley and Scuff around) there will be lots of messy fun when Grandad Gordon shows us all how to make pictures by blowing paint! Then the Story Princess is going to read today’s story “Help! I’m Scared!"

Blue Bell Hill Primary School, Nottingham
Dear Diary, today I’m going with Ripley and Scuff to Blue Bell Hill Primary School in Nottingham for some brilliant messin’ about. Our special friend, Alasdair Malloy, is going to bring his bagpipes with him to show everyone how they work and what they sound like. (I hope Scuff doesn’t get hold of them. What a noise he will make!) I can’t wait to see the acrobat people Grandad Gordon is going to make out of potatoes! And Flying Banana loves the sound of today’s story “Dribble’s Dragon Slide”!

Offmore First School, Kidderminster
Dear Diary, what fun we’re going to have today with the children at Offmore First School in Kidderminster! Our special guests, Vijay Mehay and Nachda Sansaar, are going to teach everyone how to dance to Bhangra music and are also going to demonstrate some of the instruments that are used to play it. I bet Ripley will love that! Grandad Gordon is going to show us all how to make pretty plasticine flowers and Bargie can’t wait to hear today’s story “When Will the Bubble Burst?”



Castle Acre Church of England School, Kings Lynn
Dear Diary, today we have been invited to play with the children at Castle Acre Church of England School in Kings Lynn. I am sure we are going to have a fantastic time with our special guests Dante Ferrera and Michael Sargeant. They are Early Musicians who are going to explain all about the Fire of London using historical instruments and are then going to teach everyone how to sing a round! Grandad Gordon is going to show us how to make some bottle piggy banks and today’s story is “A Fright in the Middle if the Night”. Ooh!

Brookburn Community School, Manchester
Dear Diary, today I’m going to travel with Ripley and Scuff in the jet car all the way to Brookburn Community School in Manchester. Our special friend, Heather Foxwell, is going to bring along her oboe for everyone to hear and to explain what the instrument sounded and looked like hundreds of years ago! Grandad Gordon is going to show us how to make some fabulous cut out fish (perhaps he’ll show us how to make some fabulous cut out chips too!) and the beautiful Story Princess is going to read today’s story “Pirate Five Hats and the Birthday Party”.

St Augustine’s RC School, London
Dear Diary, what an exciting day we will have today at St Augustine’s RC School in London! We are going to be joined by Helen Fitzgerald and her friends who make up a string quartet called ‘Conspirito’. They are going to show how different instruments mix together to make a beautiful sound. And I can’t wait to see the colourful dragon masks Grandad Gordon is going to make out of paper plates. Then we’re all going to listen to today’s story “What’s the Best Thing about a Rainbow?” - I love rainbows!



John Milton Primary School, London
Dear Diary, today the boys and I have been invited to visit the children at John Milton Primary School in London. Our special guest, Merlin the Clown, is definitely going to make everyone laugh by being very silly and demonstrating his juggling skills! Then Grandad Gordon is going to show us how to make a fantastic Jack-in-the-Box that is also a lot of fun to play with. And the Story Princess is going to read us today’s story, "Hector the Leaf Collector".

Linthurst First School, Bromsgrove
Dear Diary, today we have been invited to join in the fun at Linthurst First School in Bromsgrove. Our special guests, Caliche, an Andean group, are going to play the pan pipes and drums and teach everyone how people say ‘hello’ in South America! Grandad Gordon is going to give everyone a fantastic time when he shows us how to make paper cone mice (do they eat paper cone cheese?) And today’s story, "What Alisha was Afraid Of" sounds very interesting. I wonder just WHAT she was afraid of?

Howe Green House School, Essex
Dear Diary, I’m coming along with Ripley and Scuff today to visit Howe Green House School in Essex. I’m sure there’ll be lots of messin’ about with the children! Robin Aitcheson and Sarah Mnatzaganian are coming too to show everyone exactly how a violin is made - by taking one apart! Grandad Gordon is going to show us how to make tin can people that can also be used to play skittles with. Ripley and Scuff will think that’s a TOP BANANA game! Then Bargie and I are going to listen to today’s story, "Billy and the Race of Kings".

Batheaston Primary School, Bath
Dear Diary, we have all been invited to play with the children at Batheaston Primary School in Bath. Our special guests Fiona French and Paul French are going to show everyone how to make glow in the dark face masks using UV paints and materials! Wow that sounds brilliant! Then, things will probably get very gooey when Grandad Gordon shows us how to make tissue and paste pictures! And I can’t wait to meet the Funny Forest Friends again in today’s story - "A Night at the Theatre".

Wheatfield Primary School, Bristol
Dear Diary, the jet car is taking us to visit Wheatfield Primary School in Bristol. Bargie and the boys can’t wait to meet all the children. Our special guest today will be Tracy Walters who is going to bring his harmonicas along for everyone to play. He is also going to teach Ripley and Scuff how to sing the blues! Grandad Gordon is going to show us how to make some fantastic model people out of plastic bottles. And Bargie is so excited about today’s story, a Funny Forest Friends adventure - "The Ticklish Tree", because he’s very ticklish too!

Oliver Quibell Infants School, Newark
Dear Diary, today we are going to visit Oliver Quibell Infants School in Newark. We can’t wait to meet the children. I know we’re going to have a fantastic time. We’re joined by our friend, Alasdair Malloy, who brings along his collection of tuned percussion to show everyone. Grandad Gordon is going to show us how to paint portraits. (I wonder what Ripley and Scuff’s will look like?) And today’s story "Dribble’s Birthday Surprise" is all about a very unusual dragon! TOP BANANA!

Alvanley Primary School, Cheshire
Dear Diary, today we’ve been invited to join in the fun at Alvanley Primary School in Cheshire. Our special guest will be Gavin Edwards who is going to bring some French Horns with him and is also going to show everyone how to play the hosepipe! I bet Scuff will be good at that! Grandad Gordon is going to show us how to make Humpty Dumpty balloon people (hopefully without any popping!) Today’s story is "Pirate five Hats and the Treasure Island". Flying Banana says he would like to wear five hats, because then there’d be a bunch of them!

Shoscombe School, Bath
Dear Diary, I can’t wait to visit the children at Shoscombe School in Bath today. The boys and I are going to have so much fun. Our special guest, Janis Claxton, is a dancer who is going to show everyone how to use their bodies as percussion instruments! Grandad Gordon is going to show us how to make clown puppets and the boys are going to have great fun using them for their very own shadow puppet theatre. Ripley and Scuff can’t wait to hear today’s story, "Funny Forest Football" - they LOVE football!

St Stephen’s CofE First School, redditch
Dear Diary, we’ve been invited to come along to St Stephen’s CofE First School in Redditch. Roger Lade, a puppet maker is going to join us too. Not only is he is going to explain how to make puppets BUT he’s also bringing some along for everyone to meet. How exciting! And we’re going to learn how to make spiral snakes with Grandad Gordon. I wonder if there will be any spiral snakes in today’s story, "Alisha and the Strange Garden"?

St Brandon’s School, Bristol
Dear Diary, today I’m going with Ripley and Scuff to visit St Brandon’s School in Bristol. The children will be able to meet Paul O’Brien, our special guest, a TOP BANANA singer/songwriter who is going to help everyone compose a song all about themselves! I bet Ripley and Scuff’s song will be called "We’re a pair of Silly Spoons!" Grandad Gordon is going to show us how to make some really colourful balancing parrots. And Bargie is going to love today’s story, a Funny Forest Friends adventure called "Ollie’s Acorns"!



Stillness Infant School, London
Dear Diary, today we have been invited to spend the day at Stillness Infant School in London. Ripley and Scuff can’t wait to go messin’ about with the children there. Our friend Sandeep Ravel is coming to join us and he is going to show us his fantastic collection of Indian drums and explain all about Tabla. And, with Ripley and Scuff around, things might get a bit sticky when Grandad Gordon shows us all how to make pictures using rubber glue! Flying Banana particularly likes the sound of today’s story, "Myrtle the Turtle’s Sports Day".

Stoke Prior First School, Bromsgrove
Dear Diary, today the jet car is taking us all to Stoke Prior First School in Bromsgrove. We have invited a TOP BANANA special guest called Clive Andrews to come along too. He is a Clown and I know he is going to make everyone laugh by clowning around and being very silly! (Just like Ripley and Scuff!) Grandad Gordon is going to show us all how to make turtles out of cardboard bowls and then use them to play a great new game before enjoying today’s story, "How many make Five?"

Dear Diary, today Ripley and Scuff have been invited to Woodhill Primary School in London. Our special guest, Alasdair Malloy, is coming along with his Glass Harmonica to show everyone how it works and what it sounds like - just wait until Ripley and Scuff discover that it’s made of lots and lots of glasses of water! Clever Grandad Gordon is going to show us how to make people out of raffia and wool and today’s story "Hector the Balloon Collector" sounds very exciting!

Knotty Ash Primary School, Liverpool
Dear Diary, Ripley and Scuff are going to meet the children at Knotty Ash Primary School in Liverpool today! I bet everyone will have lots of messy fun when Grandad Gordon shows us how to paint patterns with combs! Bargie and I can’t wait to meet Andy Cook and Claire Guest who are bringing along Dill and Titch, two Hearing Dogs for the Deaf to demonstrate their amazing talents. The story is "Pirate Five Hats and the Day it Snowed". Mm, I love snow!

Heaton Avenue First School, Cleckheaton
Dear Diary, today we’ve been invited to join in the fun at Heaton Avenue First School in Cleckheaton! The boys can’t wait to meet all the children. We will be joined by L’il Tim, a fantastic dancer who shows everyone how to breakdance! I bet Scuff will like that! Grandad Gordon is going to show us how to make beautiful birds out of paper cups. I can’t wait to see the Story Princess - she is so beautiful. Today’s story is going to be "Billy the King and his Crowning Glory!"

Webheath First School, Redditch
Dear Diary, Ripley and Scuff are so excited! For our very first visit of the year we are going to Webheath First School in Redditch. Grandad Gordon is going to show us how to print pictures using fruit and vegetables. Our special guest Gordon Giltrap is bringing along his collection of guitars for everyone to meet! And Bargie can’t wait to hear today’s story "Have you seen my Teddy?"
